concerns the TeX Users Group, its annual meetings, and other activities
The TeX Users Group is the oldest of several groups created for support of TeX and the users of various TeX-related software. TeX, as open-source software, is not supported by a large commercial organization.
TeX itself is still maintained by Donald Knuth, its creator. Related software is maintained largely by members of TUG and similar groups, and by the greater community of TeX users (like those who frequent TeX.stackexchange), who depend on each other for mutual support.
