In line with their extremely poor attitude towards the volunteers, helping out on this site, the Stack Exchange team has not even denied this request, but chose to simply ignore it. Therefore I decided to just ad-block the banner using uBlock origin (together with all other ads on this site). The custom blocking rules for all Stack Exchange sites and Stack ...

The follow button is meant to give you inbox notifications for any changes related to that question or answer. Yes, it is specific to post that you follow, either an answer or a question. Here is the original pop-up notification pointing to the follow button: Use cases here could vary. For some, they may downvote a poor question with some suggested changes ...

This has been explained multiple times: the 'summary' of 'recent' events simply cuts off at an arbitrary number of events. So the accepted and upvoted points can be split, one appearing and one not. Your full reputation summary shows the values.

There doesn't exist a native way of doing that on the network. However, as already mentioned in Schrödinger's cat's answer, you can use the image search option with Google, targeting this site via site:tex.stackexchange.com Note though that this may only be valuable in select instances where posters did use images. Some threads only post an image in the ...

The “all time” counter tells the total number of times you downvoted (without reverting later), but the 5 votes listed under the “Votes” tab only show votes on posts which still exist: the other 9 posts you downvoted were deleted after your vote.

Go to the list of answers in your profile. At the bottom, there's a link 'recently deleted answers': That will lead you to a page which "shows answers you posted that were deleted in the last 60 days. This includes answers to questions that were deleted." Normally, you'll need 10k reputation to see deleted posts, but an exception is made for your ...

This is not a bug, but a feature. As you mention, listoffigures and listoftables are both synonyms of table-of-contents, and each synonym is replaced by their target when posting. That explains the change after posting. The reason why the synonyms are suggested during tagging is because initial tags stem from a personal association; you (or whomever writes ...

The pink background means that the flagged question, answer or comment has been deleted.

Since it's the only question using the f tag, removing it from that question (I've just submitted a suggested edit for that) will automatically delete the tag when the tag pruning script runs (once every 24 hours): What *currently* happens to zombie tags?

Voting is the voter's prerogative, and therefore they are the person who needs to intervene if something was done by accident and any correction period has lapsed. The best way to handle it is to edit the post, then reverse your vote or vote alternatively. Yes, this is possible. These types of voting corrections should be very few, and therefore shouldn't ...

Click on your user profile (defaults to the Activity page if for your own user). A summary (by period and type) of voting is listed in the bottom-right of the profile page; here's mine on Meta.TeX.SE: Clicking on "View more" will show you explicit voting actions (including up/down votes, closures, deletions, ...). A shortcut to this detailed view is ...

There are buttons at the top right corner of the answer area for sorting by latest active by votes by age (oldest first) Perhaps you clicked one. If you don't see the buttons, try with a different browser. Click on "Votes" to revert to the original sorting by points (votes).

Adjusting the line spacing The newest changes to the site have increased the line spacing in a way that makes text less readable to many of us. To change it back to something more readable add the following to your local .css (I use Stylus, but you can also use the Greasemonkey approaches outlined in the other answers.) .s-prose { line-height: 1.3; ...

This formed part of a bigger "post notice update" that was rolled out 3 weeks ago. The post notices now appear differently, depending on the viewer: Closed notice – Post owner: Closed notice – Users with 3,000+ reputation (the minimum requirement for the vote to close/re-open privilege): Closed notice – Public view: Where did the "On Hold&...

The Suggested Edits review queue contains edits that are suggested by members that have not reached 2,000 reputation. This limit is when the Edit questions and answers privilege kick in. Until that point, users could gain reputation (+2) from suggesting an edit that is eventually approved. This reputation gain (up to +1,000 reputation per user) could ...

The reputation area of the Summary tab on the Activity page as seen on the right in your screenshot appears to show only 'recent' reputation changes (for some definition of 'recent'). If you look at the reputation tab (either by clicking on "view more" or by going to the tab directly) and click on the corresponding day, you'll see all relevant ...

You did get 25 reputation from that answer, see your reputation page: I'm not sure why the upvote doesn't appear on your reputation summary.

I've edited the tag to put the correct one there. Tags with no questions associated to them are removed automatically. How can we get rid of misspelled and unused (or "zombie") tags?

Reviews can't be corrected once you've made a specific decision, unless you skipped it (skipped reviews can be revisited). Keep an eye on the review to see what the final outcome is by clicking on any of the review actions associated with the post within the Suggested Edits review queue's history tab (on the links within the marked column): If your select ...

I've started the process of adding header as a synonym for header-footer. Users with more than 2,500 reputation and a total answer score of 5 or more on the tag, can suggest tag synonyms. Users with a total answer score (total upvotes minus total downvotes) of 5 or more on the tag, can vote for tag synonyms. Suggestions will be automatically approved when ...

Deleting helps in cleaning but doesn't undo an offense. This specific case was unclear so I left it at deleting (explained in my comments I'll delete as not needed any more and in chat). Some other background that can help moving on. To answer that quote "Because obviously flagging is not the way-to-go.": It is the primary way to go. Just flag in a very ...

The question has been reopened. Btw. there are many comments on the question, perhaps some are obsolete today and could be cleaned? If yes and if you would flag those you cannot remove yourself, we can help cleaning.
