My first idea was to wait for the deadline to come and, in case of still having available slots, I'd add my nomination. Stephan prodded me to do it right now, for the sake of democracy. :) So here it goes:
I would like to have a chance to a TUG membership for the next year.
That said, I'd like to mention a few things.
I'd like to have a chance of ...
I'd like to continue to be a member of TUG.
My wish to be a member of TUG initiated the institutional membership of Stack Exchange and I would do something to continue.
I traveled from Germany to India to the TUG 2011 conference to speak about TeX.SE, and would even go to TUG 2013 in Japan if possible.
I like reading the TUGboat, where I published ...
I'd like to continue being a member of TUG, because I enjoy reading the TUGboat.
The more community reason is: I keep advertising tex.sx on all DANTE and other TeX meetings.
I'll publish another LuaTeX article if I keep the membership :)
I will vote for new people wishing to be part of the sponsored TUG membership, because I totally agree with Alan Munn.
Let me start with an email I just recently sent to the TUG office. Here is how it goes.
On 01/05/2015 08:53 AM, Angel Zetina wrote:
My name is Angel Zetina, a current subscriber of TUG.
Thank you kindly :)
I was wondering if the office at TUG could give me some insight as to how many Belizean
(country of Belize) subscribers there are....
I'm honoured to have been hwyaden-nominated by Paulo. I am reluctant to take advantage of this since I have enjoyed the benefit of a subscription this year and think that others should have their turns. However, since barbara has urged me to put my name forward despite this, as there are more spots available than there are nominees. (Though I'm not sure this ...
Since there aren't 8 nominations in the tray, I'd like to nominate myself for a sponsored TUG membership.
I was a TUG member a few years ago, but in recent years I stopped being a TUG member in favor of being a member of the ConTeXt group.
I enjoy reading TUGBoat and have contributed semi-regularly in a ConTeXt for Users column.
I like the model of TeX.SE, ...
I don't know whether I'm worthy, but the ever friendly Paulo Cereda suggested I put my name down :)
I only joined TeX.SX two years ago or so, but I was immediately awed by how friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable the TeX.SX community is. From knowing nothing about Tex & friends, I eventually learned enough, thanks to the community, to put a couple of ...
As suggested by Ulrike I put my name on the list. I have been a member of dante for about 10 years and of tex.sx for 2 years. At the moment my main tags are the KOMA-Script ones. While I am answering a question I also use this example to test the beta version of KOMA-Script. I am also active in some German forums like TeXwelt.
I hereby add an answer nominating myself for one of the TUG memberships. I've certainly appreciated the membership this year, and continue to be fairly active here on the site.
But I am also perfectly content to pass my membership on to someone new, as well. In particular, I've added in the comments to the main question a list of names of people who I ...
I would like to nominate myself.
I'd love to be a TUG member for a year, and I'd take it as motivation to finally write the TUGboat article on using PGFPlots to create Tufte style scatter plots (a follow-up to the bar chart article on http://latex-community.org/know-how/437-tufte-charts).
I am submitting my name as the result of a concerted campaign in chat to persuade me to do so. I do not think I deserve to be nominated and so I cannot give any reasons in favour of my nomination. I have only been a member of the site for just over a year. I have learnt a lot and it has been fun. But I only joined because somebody reported that people could ...
Yo', Egreg and Johannes B insisted to nominate myself. I am active on TeX.sx for five years, originally to find some help for my first LaTeX package biblatex-iso690, I was hooked since then. I happened to create some packages which are included on CTAN, most notably tex4ebook for TeX to ebook conversion and odsfile, LuaLaTeX package for reading OpenDocument ...
I would like to join and be a TUG member.
In my country LaTeX is not taken seriously or at least not extensively used. I am struggling introducing it to others and along with a colleague of mine, we are trying to form a group here to promote its use.
Unfortunately having a credit card here is expensive with about 17% interest rate so its a luxury to have ...
I propose my self. I'm LaTeX user since my degree project, long time ago, and I've been actively participating in this site and some other latex-related-lists like Cervantex, comp.text.tex, miktex-users, ...
Although I think that it is not my better answer, my most voted answer until now is How to prevent pgfplots from using the 10^n notation for axis ticks ...
I like to continue to be a TUG member.
I'm enjoying reading the TUGboard and would like to write an article for it.
I'm also prepard to go to the next TUG conference and represent both TeX.SX and present some of my LaTeX work. Unfortunatly the final stage of my PhD didn't allowed me to I go to the last TUG conference.
As suggested by cfr and encouraged by Christian Hupfer and Paulo Cereda I put my name on the list.
First time I use LaTeX about 25 years ago when wrote an article for IEE conference. After than I use it on regular basis for writing articles, presentation, examines, expertise memos and text books. Recently I use TikZ with big joy in (re)drawing all my ...
I'd happy to be one of the members representing TeX.SX in the TeX User Group. I'm planning to visit the TUG conference next year if possible and maybe present some of my LaTeX work there. It might also be good to have TeX.SX presented there so the knowledge of it is spread. This would give us a good chance to attract more (La)TeX gurus and explain that we ...
I have been a member of this site for some four years now and have a strong interest in TeX. I would be honoured to be nominated and I will submit an article to TUG. It will be an honor to be a member of the community.
I will nominate myself for a TUG membership.
My active involvement in the TeX community - mainly on TeX.SE - has taught me a great deal. It would be an honour to be granted a membership to TUG as support their goals:
To encourage and expand the use of TeX, LaTeX, Metafont and related systems.
To ensure the integrity and portability of TeX, LaTeX, Metafont ...
I will nominate myself for a TUG membership. I am a member of GUST: http://www.gust.org.pl/ and this helps me to understand, how restricted is my TeX knowledge, but in the same time helps to push boundaries.
I would like to have access to current TUG articles, but TUG membership is rather expensive for me. Certainly, I can wait, but especially "TeX friends"...
I very humbly add my nomination, after a short chat with Joseph. I'm not so active TeX.SX member recently, basically because I got involved in TeX elsewhere and I cannot procrastinate on it so much ;)
The reason why I nominate myself is that I consider becoming a TUG member anyways, and I think I can benefit from the membership.
On the other hand, as soon ...
What can TeXample.net do for TeX Stack Exchange?
A banner on the main page and on the TikZ page, meaning: if you have questions about TikZ, go to TeX Stack Exchange to get an answer.
The TeXample TikZ gallery collects examples from TeX.SE and links prominently here.
The TeXample site lists TikZ question snippets from TeX.SE, via a tag feed collector, ...
I'd like to join the TUG. When I tried to join online, I browsed the TUG pages and I discovered the possibility of institutional membership. So I thought it would be nice to do this together with some fellow TeX friends and join with the whole SE network, so I posted this idea on meta and here we are.
At Alan's heartwarming insistence, I'd like to nominate myself if there are free slots.
It seems everyone else has given a little tidbit about why, so here goes:
I've almost exploded in my interest of TeX and TeX systems,
and I would be excited to see what other people are talking about and doing.
I'm not privy to the full benefits of a TUG membership, ...
Initially I was reluctant to put my name forward, as probably won't have the funds and time to go to TUG conferences (and represent TeX.SX there). On the other hand getting TUGboat on time would certainly be nice. So after some prodding by Stefan I'll put put my name on the list of people who would like to join the TUG.
I'm not among the top 30, let alone top 10 users on TeX.SX, but I'd still be interested in joining the TUG.
I haven't been here for very long, and I've only gotten to use extensively and hack TeX/LaTeX in the last few months, but I like to contribute when I get the occasion (and the Q&A on TeX.SX have already been the occasion for me to create 6 new ...
