I'm honoured to have been hwyaden-nominated by Paulo. I am reluctant to take advantage of this since I have enjoyed the benefit of a subscription this year and think that others should have their turns. However, since barbara has urged me to put my name forward despite this, as there are more spots available than there are nominees. (Though I'm not sure this ...

As suggested by Ulrike I put my name on the list. I have been a member of dante for about 10 years and of tex.sx for 2 years. At the moment my main tags are the KOMA-Script ones. While I am answering a question I also use this example to test the beta version of KOMA-Script. I am also active in some German forums like TeXwelt.

Let me start with an email I just recently sent to the TUG office. Here is how it goes. Dear Angel, On 01/05/2015 08:53 AM, Angel Zetina wrote: My name is Angel Zetina, a current subscriber of TUG. Thank you kindly :) I was wondering if the office at TUG could give me some insight as to how many Belizean (country of Belize) subscribers there are....

Yo', Egreg and Johannes B insisted to nominate myself. I am active on TeX.sx for five years, originally to find some help for my first LaTeX package biblatex-iso690, I was hooked since then. I happened to create some packages which are included on CTAN, most notably tex4ebook for TeX to ebook conversion and odsfile, LuaLaTeX package for reading OpenDocument ...

27

I don't know whether I'm worthy, but the ever friendly Paulo Cereda suggested I put my name down :) I only joined TeX.SX two years ago or so, but I was immediately awed by how friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable the TeX.SX community is. From knowing nothing about Tex & friends, I eventually learned enough, thanks to the community, to put a couple of ...

26

I am submitting my name as the result of a concerted campaign in chat to persuade me to do so. I do not think I deserve to be nominated and so I cannot give any reasons in favour of my nomination. I have only been a member of the site for just over a year. I have learnt a lot and it has been fun. But I only joined because somebody reported that people could ...

I propose my self. I'm LaTeX user since my degree project, long time ago, and I've been actively participating in this site and some other latex-related-lists like Cervantex, comp.text.tex, miktex-users, ... Although I think that it is not my better answer, my most voted answer until now is How to prevent pgfplots from using the 10^n notation for axis ticks ...

Alenanno This bloke. ^^

As suggested by cfr and encouraged by Christian Hupfer and Paulo Cereda I put my name on the list. First time I use LaTeX about 25 years ago when wrote an article for IEE conference. After than I use it on regular basis for writing articles, presentation, examines, expertise memos and text books. Recently I use TikZ with big joy in (re)drawing all my ...

I will nominate myself for a TUG membership. I am a member of GUST: http://www.gust.org.pl/ and this helps me to understand, how restricted is my TeX knowledge, but in the same time helps to push boundaries. I would like to have access to current TUG articles, but TUG membership is rather expensive for me. Certainly, I can wait, but especially "TeX friends"...

22

I have been a member of this site for some four years now and have a strong interest in TeX. I would be honoured to be nominated and I will submit an article to TUG. It will be an honor to be a member of the community.

22

I will nominate myself for a TUG membership. My active involvement in the TeX community - mainly on TeX.SE - has taught me a great deal. It would be an honour to be granted a membership to TUG as support their goals: To encourage and expand the use of TeX, LaTeX, Metafont and related systems. To ensure the integrity and portability of TeX, LaTeX, Metafont ...

21

At Alan's heartwarming insistence, I'd like to nominate myself if there are free slots. It seems everyone else has given a little tidbit about why, so here goes: I've almost exploded in my interest of TeX and TeX systems, and I would be excited to see what other people are talking about and doing. I'm not privy to the full benefits of a TUG membership, ...

TeX.SX and TUGboat have been invaluable resources for me. To be honest, I feel really welcomed here and even when I have asked several questions, I am glad, that at times, I am able to answer a few here and there. I am learning and similar to my last submission for selection, I am moving forward the TeX voice here in my country, Belize. Currently I am ...

I humbly put myself on the list. I already am a member of dante and would like get the opportunity to help me decide if I pay for a joint membership in the future. (I've been tempted for a while now...) If I get the chance I promise to write the article about chemistry and LaTeX for TUGboat Karl Berry asked me for about two years ago... (I'll probably be ...

19

If there are free slots I'm putting my name on the list with the same reason as cgnieder: I'm already member of dante and I would like get the opportunity to help me decide if I pay for a joint membership in the future. But I can't promise an article or something like this as I haven't currently the time to write it.

18

I'll, uh, hereby nominate myself. I'm not sure what's expected of the representatives, but I'll cope in case I'm lucky. I haven't done so much answering / editing / voting / reviewing last year because of being so busy busy busy, but hopefully I'll have more time this year. I'll let you in on a little secret about me: My favorite past time is taking a ...

18

I'd like to join the election for a TUG membership. I hope I can stand a chance against the other, more trusted applicants. I'm a user for 1 year and 11 months now, but really started using this site about 1 year ago. My favourite tags are tikz-pgf and pstricks. In the past, I read interesting TUGboat articles online, when they were available. I also read ...

18

My apologies for being so late with my submission (I've been very busy sorting out housing for a new job nearly 1000 miles away), but I'd like to humbly put my name into that hat for TUG membership, a privilege I have thoroughly enjoyed this past year in reading and learning from the excellent articles and resources available to TUG members. I've been using ...

17

Thanks to a kind notice from Jubobs, I discovered the existence of this TUG membership list. But it was after the 'nomination' phase and I hesitated to put my name on the list afterwards. After Christian Hupfer also asked me to put my name on this list, I do it now quite lately before the door closes. I apologize for rushing in unpunctual. I've been using ...

17

I'll be so brave to nominate myself. While I don't participate so much in answering questions recently, I concentrate on the community work: flagging, commenting, editing, following both the local and the big meta actively. I also try to organize my time so that I can attend the TUG meeting in Darmstadt and hopefully give a talk there (I can give a talk ...

17

I am very far from the merits, reputation and experience of many members of this site. And my knowledge about LaTeX and TUG is still superficial. Thus, certainly I will not a good 'representant' of TeX-sx. My membership could be surely of little utility in TUG (even less than here, if this is possible). After this "self-promotion", it only remains to add ...

16

I don't really like nominating myself for anything, but I'll make an exception. Not really sure what to say though. I'm a mere user, my contributions to the TeX world so far are mainly those on this site. I've been a TUG member for two years I think. My main reason for joining was to give a little bit back, and I'll renew my membership if I'm not 'awarded' ...

15

Since the list is not yet full (7 at the start of writing), I gladly reapply. My connection to TUG was for example initiating our institutional membership, visiting a TUG meeting and making a TeX.SX related presentation there, writing a TeX.SX related article for the TUGboat from it. That was fun, I wish the same fun for our fellow members, I already ...

14

The last day of the election and only 7 nominees for 8 positions? That is kind of sad, so I will add myself to the nominees, even if I am much less qualified than the others -- no TeX development or something, just a user. I am an enthusiastic LaTeX user since the beginning of my studies in 2007, and after years of reading Q&As on this site, I actively ...

13

Joseph just linked me to this page and... oh, it's already the last day to go. Well, I did not know about these TeX.SX representatives until this very moment but actually I like this idea. I am not such an advanced programmer like many others on this site but I like helping, testing, calling into question, treating super pedantic stuff ;-)... If I have ...

I've been using LaTeX since the late 1990s. Before that, I used to 'typeset' documents using Wordstar clones (VDE and later ZDE) on an Amstrad CPC. These had basic markup for bold, large, etc. so they weren't a million miles away from LaTeX (at least for basic documents), but the final output could only be viewed by printing, in my case using a 9-pin dot ...
