The answer to this is that there is no reputation system on this Meta site to award bounties, and therefore considered by-design. Bounties are only meaningful in an environment where reputation is available to be gained and distributed (through voting, but also bounties). Here on Meta, it does not exist. In fact, your "reputation" on meta is equivalent to ...

Reputation related badges Reputation on meta isn't shown, so it's hard to see what happens. Reputation related badges can be achieved, as several people got the Mortarboard badge. Nobody has Epic or Legendary yet, but it should be possible as well. Badges which we cannot get on meta: Bounty related badges You cannot start a bounty on meta because of ...

Voting on 'poll-like' questions has an issue in that voting for multiple answers is detected as 'serial voting' and is auto-reverted once a day. (See The vote fraud script breaks legitimate polling questions - A serial downvoter's lament for more on this.) Added to that, the fact that many of last year's answers were ported en masse by a single user does ...

An ad should clearly convey what the product is that it advertises. What this means in details is highly dependent on the expertise of the beholder, but we should probably assume a user that doesn't know a lot. Here's a tendency I noticed in many ads, which should be read as a hypothesis, not a factual statement: Creators of ads think: "How can I express ...

As already mentioned, this is a status-by-design. This has also been raised on Meta.SO, where the answer points to a blog entry by Jeff Attwood called New Per-Site Metas; an introduction to per-site metas across the entire network (July 2010): Reputation is always inherited from the parent site. You cannot gain or lose reputation* on the per-site meta. This ...

Well, after trying for couple days, I came to the conclusion that as long as you vote only 3 times a day in the thread, your votes won't get reverted. This is sort of a good news, even though I still think that votes on one person in one Q&A thread should be considered as one vote only.

I would like to modify some of the ads, this seems to be too long for a comment so I make it an answer. As well, I'm not a good in computer graphics so I cannot make the ads if they have to be nice. The reasons why I think it should be renewed are numerous, one of them is that they have low impact, possibly because people don't know what they are. So my ...

You're over-thinking it a bit too much... There will never be a clear black-and-white line on what is on- or off-topic on meta or on the main site. There will always be some subjective view that causes certain questions to fall within some grey area not covered by all the guidelines/suggestions. If you are uncertain about whether or not something is on- or ...

In the online advertising world, a lot of advice exists on creating effective calls to action, e.g. How To Write A Killer Call To Action. Out of the Community Promotion Ads - 2012, the one labeled "answer the unanswered questions" by @Paulo Cereda seems to best follow recommended principles, such as: Use buttons: Buttons make it obvious that the user can ...

IMHO, this poll: https://tex.meta.stackexchange.com/a/3152/11002 is complicated and does not fit into the Poll scheme, it is not well stated and it is very difficult to say what type of options-comments are acceptable. That is the reason why I downvoted it. As well, the first two comments seem to be only a "hot-head" reaction to the discussions over this ...

I hit this banner while ticking the "packages I have used" .. of course X) Would it make sense to make an exception for the poll?
