I suggest to change "LaTeX" to "TeX" so it's a catch-all for everything (TeX is the underlying language; LaTeX/plain-tex/Context are macropackages/"formats"). Also, it doesn't make much sense to differentiate between engines (XeTeX, LuaTeX, pdfTeX), but it would make sense to differentiate between formats. Especially since you seem to confuse the meaning ...

TeX.sx article/issue A special article/issue specially released for this great celebration. We could have short interviews with some of our members, an overview of our community, moderators analysis, chatroom pearls, LaTeX jokes1, comments on questions, statistics, and so forth. We could also give this issue a name and publish it three or four times per ...

Can we have an update once in a while about the current number of submissions? I am really curious already. If so, where would it be posted?

Contest suggestion TeX.SX Screencast Who creates a nice screen-cast introducing the features of TeX.SX? This could be a nice demonstration, with a carefully selected demo question, wiki, meta discussion and chat transcript. Teamwork is possible regarding conceptualizing, screen recording, if desired separate audio recording by another good speaker and ...

And just so I don't get accused of solely tooting my own horn :-), the pgfplots tag is really good too.

Contest suggestion Great Blog Posts Who creates a great blog post during a contest time? It could be during possibly 2 weeks (or 11 days?) starting from 11.11.11 on. There are great answers on this site which could lead to great blog posts! Or write about new topics. Several authors could get a prize. We can honor earlier contributions of our already ...

Does the submission have to be a document, or is it also OK to post a nice (and I mean really really nice!) macro?

I propose that the question be unlocked. Voting is long over, the current votes don't reflect the result of the contest anyway, but the answerers could still get some appreciation through votes and badges (not rep though as it is CW). It's pretty clear that this question usually wouldn't be allowed on tex.sx, so I don't think we need the lock for that reason....

I just found that the character limit is 30000- is this worth mentioning in the original question? Or could it be raised? :)

Contest suggestion The best tag wiki page Very similar to my previous question Who designs the best tag wiki? I suggest designing tag wikis as part of the contests, since tag wiki pages can be excellent summaries and link collections of links to resources on this site and elsewhere. See also: What makes a good tag-wiki entry? Redesigned Tags Page Very ...

I'm fairly pleased with the biblatex tag wiki.

Today I extended the mathmode tag wiki by links to internal and external resources such as packages, tutorials, special related tags and example questions.

Does this mean I can submit as many documents/answers as I want? And also, does it imply there are no categories (like academic paper, cookbook, etc.)?

I'm not sure how I feel about edits to submissions that happened after the deadline. I'm aware they are mostly typo-like corrections, but if we allow these kinds of edits, where do we draw the line? If you submit an application, you can't change typos afterwards, either. Thus, I'm strongly tempted to rollback these edits, just because there had been one week ...

How about using the submissions for a general showcase of the typesetting capabilities of (La)TeX and its community akin to the TikZ examples on http://texample.net/tikz? Perhaps even on that site.

The linguistics tag also reasonably comprehensive.
